Handling adversity

Studying the Old Testament character of Job has been very refreshing as it exposes timeless truths regarding adversity in life.

Couple observations we can all chew on…

  • Sometimes God allows hardships in our lives because we are living a life set apart for Him. Job was blameless!
  • God does have all authority, including the final say on the hedge of protection around our lives. Aren’t you glad God has boundaries set around our lives the enemy can’t cross without permission? I can’t tell you how many times in my life I’ve seen God’s hand of protection over my life. Still blows my mind to think about it! God is SO good!!!!
  • God does allow more on us than we can handle. The teaching that He doesn’t simply isn’t found or supported in scripture. What is found in scripture are accounts of many coming under tough circumstances only to understand their dependence on God and eventually discovering God’s purpose in the trial.
  • Our circumstances don’t alter God’s character

Blessed be the name of the Lord
