Gathering Jars
So this single mom finds herself in a financial pinch, can't pay the bills, creditors are all over her case and the family is about to be broken apart. The reason she's single is her husband is gone and didn't leave enough behind to meet her financial needs.
Sounds like a bruised family in crisis on the verge of collapse.
She cries for help and God's messenger says to go gather jars from all around. These jars would be part of a miraculous act by God as valuable oil would appear in the empty jars she'd collect, and she could then sell the oil and have enough to sustain her and keep the family together.
The more jars gathered the greater the outpouring. The greater the outpouring, the greater the provision to pay off debts and keep her family intact.
Now if I knew of this family situation and had the opportunity to gather jars on their behalf, I'd go out and tell others of the need and ask them to give any jars they could afford to for this family in a desperate and hopeless situation.
What if we had multiple families living without hope and our jar collecting had a direct impact on each and every one of them?
