Wednesday Night Reflection
Watching 70 teens come into a hot school auditorium in the middle of summer to Worship Jesus with expectant hearts...that never gets old!
Seeing 2 young ladies and a young man receive a new start in life was definitely the highlight of tonight!!! For the first time they came to understand the basics of God's message of hope found in Christ. They left CHANGED. YAHOO!!!!!
Gotta keep that heavenly band on their toes...Luke 15:7
Our music minister, George Lambert, does a great job in encouraging the teens to simply focus on the greatness of God during worship. It's always cool watching folks walking past the auditorium doors stop and observe the teens praising the Lord in music and song. Having a Romans 1:16 youth group is a powerful testimony to God's faithfulness.
Interesting fact # 412
Isaiah 6:2 tells us the Seraphim around the Lord's throne had 6 wings...2 to cover their eyes from the brilliance of the Lord, 2 to cover their feet, signifying their humility in the Lord's presence and 2 wings to fly with.
It appears that 4 of the 6 wings were devoted to responding to the holiness of God, while 2 of the wings were devoted to flying, or service for the Lord.
Makes me wonder how different our lives would be if we focused twice as much on worship, recognizing and responding to who God is, instead of focusing so much on what we can do for God.
Yet we so often want to use our hands rather than offer our hearts...ouch!!!
