If there was one word to describe a person who is committed to Jesus, it would be FOLLOWER.

Jesus said in Luke 18:22 to "come follow me." The word "Christian" is grabbed onto by so many people, I have to wonder if most people really know what they are saying. I like to call myself a "follower of Christ" as it describes movement, loyalty and my leader. It's kind of hard to be a follower and remain where you are.

What excites me is seeing New Life move forward. We may not have all the "programs" of a big church, but we have a clear vision that is moving us forward.

Just a few thoughts along that line:

• I'd rather be in a bouncy two seater plane than on a jumbo jet with no fuel
• I'd rather be on a small boat with a 3 hp motor than on an ocean liner without a working engine
• I'd rather be on a moped than in a stalled limousine
